Maui anesthesiologist Gerhardt Konig is accused of trying to push his wife, Arielle, off a Pali cliff, beat her with a rock, and inject her with syringes last month. Arielle Konig wrote in her petition for a temporary restraining order that during the incident, she grabbed the syringe and threw it out of reach, and she says she bit him to defend herself. A judge granted Arielle Konig’s TRO, which included their children, family members, and their dog. Arielle said Gerhardt accused her of having an affair, fueling “extreme jealousy” and that they had been to individual and couples therapy. Arielle’s background is in nuclear engineering. Konig is expected to enter a plea next Monday.
